Abstract

The field of second language acquisition has seen an increasing interest in individual differences and the psychological factors that influence the process of language learning. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the literature on the psychology of the language learner, with a focus on individual differences in second language acquisition. The paper will examine various psychological factors, including motivation, anxiety, learning styles, aptitude, and cognitive abilities, and their impact on second language acquisition. This paper will conclude with implications for language teachers and directions for future research.
