Abstract

In recent years, late complications of diabetes, especially those of a vascular nature, have come to the fore due to an increase in the life expectancy of patients through the use of a wide range of treatment methods. The prevalence of diabetes mellitus is rampant. By the beginning of the 21st century, there were about 150 million patients with diabetes mellitus worldwide, and according to WHO experts, by 2025 the number of people suffering from this disease will be about 300 million people.
