METHODS TO PROMOTE CULTURAL AWARENESS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING CLASSROOM

Abstract

Cultural awareness is a growing concern especially in our time right now due to the growing number of minority students that are being enrolled in Uzbek schools. As teachers begin to work with different students, that means they encounter different needs and different perspectives must be taken into account when working in classrooms and schools. It is teachers’ jobs to promote diversity and break down social barriers between students, especially those from immigrant families who aren't seen as "Uzbeks" in society.
