This article is devoted to the foreign experience and models of increasing competitiveness of graduates of higher education institutions in the conditions of the knowledge economy, in which the models of the German Classical University (Humboldt), Neoclassical "Polytechnic" University and "Entrepreneurial University" are considered. Summarizing the obtained results, opinions about the change of the concept of "university" are summarized.
