Scientific and Political Approaches in the Period of the Russian Empire from the Surface of the Neighborhoods of Samarkand

Abstract

This article provides an opinion on the location, geography, ethnic composition of neighborhoods in Samarkand in the second half of the XIX - early XX centuries on the resources of the Russian Empire. During the period under study, scientific concepts of the military conquest of the city of Samarkand and the need to conduct scientific research for the use of the territory for imperial purposes were also included. The characteristics of the data of this period are analyzed. The data provided by tourists and research scientists of the imperial period are summarized.
